BRYANTFORBSD7 INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHTS

May 1, 2035

Carly Bryant running for 2024 May school board elections

Hello, I'm Carly: a student, a teammate, an active community member, and a dedicated advocate for the youth of Bozeman both inside and outside the classroom.

Bozeman Schools have played a crucial role in shaping who I am. The significance of knowledge was instilled in me by my teachers, the value of hard work was demonstrated by my coaches, and the collective rise of all was exemplified by my peers. I strongly believe that students should have a voice in their education, which is why I am excited to announce my candidacy to become the first student on the Bozeman School District Board of Trustees.

It's time for our district to listen to its students. We deserve to have our perspectives taken into account when decisions about our schools are being made. Action on pressing issues affecting today's youth, such as climate change and the lack of inclusivity, is essential. Having served in various roles, including voter advocate, club president, and volunteer conservationist, I've heard the concerns of students, parents, and community members. Now, I am eager for the chance to turn those insights into action, confident that we can find common ground on these critical matters.

I can't embark on this journey without the support of my community. Whether you can contribute a few dollars or dedicate a few hours to knocking on doors, this campaign relies on individuals like you.

Stay tuned and stay connected, Bozeman! We have important work ahead of us.

What folks are saying...

Montana Conservation Corps

"Carly was a valuable part of each of one of their crews during their three different service Expeditions with MCC. They showed dedication and perseverance in difficult working conditions across multiple conservation projects throughout the state of Montana. Carly cared not only about their own experience but also the experience of their crewmates. They provided leadership and sought to create a culture where everyone was included but also challenged to grow during their time together. Carly is an excellent member on any team and would be a great addition to the school board." - Brad Koontz, 2023 Associate Director of Youth Programs, Montana Conservation Corps

Concerned community member

"Carly is someone with a strong commitment to their community and a desire to create positive change within it. They're a leader who will work to create a more livable future for all of us. Carly understands – first handedly – how to support the students in the Bozeman School District, and I think they'd be a great fit for the board. " -Devin Filicicchia, Community Member

"Carly is a caring, deeply committed, and keenly intelligent leader among their peers. Carly knows firsthand what it is like to navigate the Bozeman School District from a student's perspective and would provide valuable lived experience as a Trustee on our School Board. Carly is highly qualified and has already shown their dedication to improving our school district through their student organizing efforts, regularly attending school board meetings, and connecting with Trustees and other city leaders to advance policies that would benefit fellow students. They have a proven record of showing up again and again, even when the going gets tough, and I have no doubt that they will make an excellent Trustee." - Emma Bode, Chair of Bozeman Sustainability Board
